Cricut Gossip

I found out what the deal is about this release (Lyrical Letters & Life's A Beach). These two cartridges were supposed to be Michael's exclusives but Michael's backed out.......this is why they are selling to the online stores with such a soon delivery. They manufactured them to be released in March for Michael's and then everyone else would get them in May. So there ya go. Provocraft in panic mode.

  1. Thank you, I was wondering what was up with them not being displayed for CHA. You have clarified that for me.

  5. Makes sense. I've just ordered the Home Decor design cart from Kars via my local craft shop - Kars has exclusive rights to sell this cart I only found out yesterday. Cannot wait for it to arrive.

  7. Ugggh. See? This is why I hate when they release "exclusive" cartridges... :(

  8. You know, I was able to order Home Decor from an online store in the UK... It isn't here yet, but I wonder if this is one they released there first?

  9. I Googled KARS...is that a UK craft shop? If so, that would sort of make sense. I thought I heard that Home Decor was exclusive to the Walmart pack in the US, but it was also being sold in Europe.

  10. Is it possible that Walmart has the exclusivity in the US and Kars has it in the UK??? (That's where AngelaM is.)

In any case... thanks for the info Linda. I think PC is just trying to make up for Michael's backing out on a deal. They're scrambling to get these carts into the market place since the original distribution deal flopped. Personally, PC isn't the bad guy here. Michael's isn't either. The economy is making everyone reconsider their financial situation.

  12. Provo Craft's products are great, but I don't think it's the economy that is messing things up for them. I have a retail store in Minnesota, and Provo Craft has been the hardest company to work with in getting products in and half the time their staff don't know what' going on! they have been very difficult to do business with. it's very discouraging. If we didn't LOVE their products we would have said bye to them long ago!

  14. Sorry, darlings, should have explained...., yes I am in the UK and KARS is a Netherlands company. Their 2009 catalogue highlights exclusive rights to the solo selling of the Home Decor cart so hopefully I'll get it real soon. Also I have a home in Florida and so Michaels is ... well... FAB!!!!! Will pick up George, Wedding, Jasmine and perhaps other carts when I visit end April....

  15. Also, many times PC requires a minimum purchase for their sales numbers required by Sorensen Capital which "owns" them. They are very difficult to work with due to the run around they give us. It therefore makes it difficult for customer service on our end. We can be put into a tough position when they do not follow through. Hooray though for Michael's backing out. That's great for the company I work for - Michael's is always overpriced for Cricut IMO; nonetheless still people shop there.

  16. I don't believe that exclusivity is a good policy. Too many cricut lovers are left out in the cold when PC releases these exclusive deals. We Aussie cricuteers pay through the nose for carts anyway and then find out that a good percentage of them are unavailable to us. Its simply not fair.
