Monthly Challenge

Our calendars are being formed for the new month so right now, get it out and write in at least one hour a week for designated scrapbooking time. Yes you can find it. It is there. Plan for it. Write it in and DO it. SO you have to give up reruns of CSI or Friends....No more wishful thinking....grab that time before it slips away. Make your time work for you. Use those supplies like papers and stickers. Zip out a few pages. Your family really does NOT want to have to dispose of 3 carts full of paper at an estate sale after you are gone....They would much rather look over your finished albums full of treasured memories. 1. LOL. Thanks for the reminder about scheduling time! Just today, I sat down and made some cards for WCMD, and wow, did it feel good! Not only that, but I used up a ton of scraps. And get this: I even THREW SOME AWAY!
Yup. Now maybe my family will only have 2 carts full of paper when I'm gone. ;)

  2. I really know what you are talking about. We just cleaned out my grandmas house when she went to the nursing home. She sewed dolls and patchwork quilts for YEARS so there was lots of stuff. Plus she was from the generation where you never threw anything away. I kept saying "I'm not going to be like this" Then I came home and looked at all my scrap stuff and just sighed! Even though you have tons, it is very hard not to buy more when you see something you like! Most women have shoes, I have paper and stickers and such!

  3. You know, I was just thinking how I can't afford to take any classes, so I should schedule a specific amount of time each week to work in my craft room with my papers, etc... If I went outside to more classes I would just end up buying more stamps! I am addicted! My family would wish they only had three boxes once I am gone.

  4. We bought a fixer-upper that had belonged to an elderly lady. You would not believe all the 'stuff' that was left in it. The family didn't even want to bother with it. How sad. Stuff that was precious to her was a bother to her family.

...Headed to my scrapbook table to clean up right now!! ~Linda

  5. So funny I created 3 layouts and 4 cards yesterday and I am determined to use up what I have..no more purchasing paper until I have used up a significant amount of my goodies. It felt great to throw caution to the wind and do a few cards and layouts my boys were happy I was crafting and I was thrilled to have 95% of what I needed/anted for my layouts and cards!! So fun and I feel so accomplished!!

Keep crafting all and thank you for inspiring me to pencil in "me time for crafting goodness!!"

    Happy New Year!!!

  6. You and me both Christine. Just yesterday I finished an 8x8 album that I'd been 'aiming' to work on forever. Finally it's done and all with stuff that I had on hand. ~Linda
