I did the same thing! REALLY? Plunk down $275 for a couple of exclusive carts? I could get an E if I had that kind of "spare change" laying around! And probably a Gypsy too!
me too!! I just got the email for it and said "whatever!!" They already overcharge for cartridges and everything else, why on earth are we going to pay that much to get 'exclusive' access for things... What focus group said "yeah, i'll pay $275 a year for this stuff" ??? Especially in this economy!! Can you say "out of touch"?
I got the same email and thought cool, no mention of cost, it must be FREE!!! My rose colored glasses hit the floor about the same time my jaw did when I saw the price!!! Are they CRAZY???
Wow! I was invited, but the email said nothing about cost. You mean I have to pay?? (Blink, blink, blink) Get real! If I had that kind of money, I would be a gypsy owner--or even a Pazzles owner! Mary101, Cricut MB
ditto to all of the above! They had contacted me earlier with a survey about an exclusive club. I mentioned to them then that their cartridges, etc were the most expensive around and that there would have to be some really deep discounts to get my attention. Seems to me with this price they could give the "exclusive" carts away and still be way ahead. Just my 2 cents venting.
I just got the email and thought that would be cool but if I have to pay for they have to be nuts. When I saw the price I really thought they lost there marbles.
No, thanks! This has got to be the most ridiculous thing yet. I don't know who PC is listening to, but I haven't seen many in favor of 'exclusives' for anyone. The price tag is extreme. And an "official Cricut Circle Membership Certificate"? Reminds me of Ralphie and his membership to the Little Orphan Annie club. Haha!
Seriously?!? I do have the money, but think this "exclusive club" is a JOKE! Basically, you are PAYING to buy product "early" from them... an exclusive chat room? and an exclusive "icon" in your siggy... pllleeaasssee! I don't know who their marketing people are, but they need to be fired. There are SO many cool things they could be doing and this sure isn't one of them!
ARE THEY NUTS!!!! I HAVE ALREADY SPENT A SMALL FORTUNE ON CARTRIDGES, EXPRESSION, GYSPY DO THEY NOT KNOW FINANCES IN THIS COUNTRY ARE NOT GOOD, I LOVE MY MACHINES AND I HAVE TO WAIT TO GET CARTRIDGES WHEN THE PRICES GO DOWN EVENTUALLY BUT STILL YOU PAY 26-45 DOLLARS THEN. IF I EVER FIGURE OUT MY MTC CRICUIT MAY NEVER GET ANY MORE OF MY MONEY
I was also asked to fill out the survey on this - and I said NO WAY would I pay more to get access to exclusive carts. They should at least have the option to reject the cart if you don't like it - you don't even know what they look like yet.
I am soooo tired of PC trying to gouge their customers - like making it so difficult to sell used gypsies, and it isn't possible to unlink carts from gypsies so that they can be resold (I understand not allowing an unlimited amount of unlinking, but once a year or something like that is reasonable), and no REAL updates to make Design Studio user-friendly - no! Instead they will come out with another new product in it's place that will link to our carts so that we can't re-sell them if we have used them it at all. Are they trying to encourage customers to get SCAL & MTC? Cause it's working!
what's the word on the messageboards? is ANYONE seemingly okay with this? i'd rather spend my $$$ on carts i don't have, that i KNOW what is on them, and probably MTC, at this point. whatever, provocraft. you asked... and DIDN'T listen!
I replied to their survey the same way Ann did. And they post a price like that? 275? LOL. Uh, no thanks. Even if the carts were OhMyGod fabulous I'd never do it for that.
I had just read before this that they had picked me to be part of this. Whatever this was..Then I read yours..They got to be kidding. We all spend enough on our Cricut items..
Wow, Provo Craft is greedier than I thought. I just hope that nobody buys into this crazy "circle" just to show them that we "cricuteers" are not stupid, impulsive, or wasteful. Let provo craft lose some money on all their marketing of this crazy idea.
Another bomb for PC. $300 for nothing, no way! And what about these Cricut Lite carts. Just a fancy name for a solutions cart as far as I'm concerned. Granted some are cute but come on....$40?!? Do they think we are crazy?
My jaw dropped, then I laughed. It's getting so the new carts seem to be a lot of repeats and I am not finding many I want to buy. Why would I spend that kind of money on a membership? Crazy.
I agree with everyone else. They must think that we are all obsessed with having all the latest gimicks they have to offer! Even with their offers of discounted cartridges they can't even begin to compete with some of the online pricing. Wake up PC and give us more for our $$.
Living on a fixed income and always wishing I could do more, buy more - I just about choked when I saw the "price for membership"...good grief, what are they thinking? It will be a cold day in "()# when I spend that kind of money for anything.
I had to laugh and shake my head when I saw the prices! What are they playing at?? Do they seriously think we'll spend that much money just to have exclusivity on carts when they'll be available in a few months?? Anyway, answer THIS... who is the last person you know that spend more than $40 for a cart anyway??? You can buy a LOT of carts for that price!!
I received the same email today, but couldn't get it to open since I forgot my password. Wow! I would have never guessed it would be that much. Yikes! I wonder how many are willing to sign up? I'm sure there are people out there...just not me!
I remember doing the survey and I specifically said that there was no way anyone would be interested in a "club" and I definitely remember saying that their "fee" would be WAY too much. It is like those sites that advertise all kinds of "free" stuff when you take their surveys, but - oh - you have to "pay" for the priviledge to take the surveys and only get free stuff if you are of the right "type". From out of what hole did they dig their marketing dept zombies?
Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot!!!! Do they have head injuries?? Do they not realize that we are in a recession and money is uber-tight for everyone? Forget it!! Make The Cut you say?
Hello Ladies I agree with all of you PC must be Out of their everlasting minds...BUT you all are missing ONE Good thing about this club...THE BRACELET WITH THE ICON ON IT......LMBO...When I read that I was like oh yeah All my friends will envy me, because I'm wearing a bracelet with a cricut on it...One word for PC .....WHY?????? ENJOY LADIES
they're on crack... its the only sane explanation. I have SCAL and have been debating on MTC ... I think this honestly has pushed me over the edge to buy MTC just to "ootz" PC!
Well, here's my story. When I checked my e-mail tonight, I saw my invitation to the exclusive Cricut Circle Club. Wow, I thought, how special! So I logged on to see what all was included. Just as I saw the price of this exclusive club.....boom! we had an earthquake! Was someone /someone trying to tell me something??? I'm listening.....too rich for my blood! Ciao db:)
Didn't get the invite to join - ?wtf? - I was a demonstrator and a teacher for them! But now, it doesn't bother me, I wouldn't have joined anyway! Wake up PC - a silly symbol and cartridges we may not want for $275 - NO THANKS!
I guess the "circle" isn't as "exclusive" as they made it out to be...sounds like everyone received it...too funny.....but I am sure there are those that will do it, but I'm not one of them.
I too got the survey and the invite and just about choked on my dinner reading that price! PC is crazy! it sure is going to be "exclusive" when PC is the only one in it.
I almost died!! Like I don't spend enough money on their products!! They are completely out of their mind. I would love to know if ANYONE will join that assinine thing!
Linda, Im not sure if you read the whole thing, so I thought it to be my Cricut duty to remind you that is also said GALA....if you join this rich club, you just might be invited to a fancy party BYOB of course, but a gala non the less.....
Denise
hahahahahahahahaha WOW just when we think weve seen it all....
I too got my invite yesterday and actually had to rub my eyes and shake me head to make sure what I was reading is how I was comprehending it! I don't know anything about MTC but I think I'm going to have to get my read on...
Do you think PC will give the ladies and gents that buy into this insanity and give them a tube of lube to make the payment not hurt so much?
How sad.....I wouldn/t pay $50 dollars a year for what is to me junk.
I have been heming and hawingover buying Sure Cuts A Lot. I guess I will buy it now. I can't buy Make the Cut as I have a MAC. I know I could use some program to run PC stuff on my MAC, but I am not interested in doing that.
How that is a lot. I agree what do they think most people are made of money like that they can just throw away for a few extra's.. Thanks but no thanks on this one..
Received my invite, thought cool, until I logged in and saw the price. No way in !@## would I ever join a club costing $275, let alone the extra 'perks'. I hope nobody joins the club and then maybe, just maybe PC will get the hint!
You know, I thought about it for a second, then totally rejected the idea. I'm afraid they are way off base. I'm going to learn MTC. BTW has anyone noticed that on the carts, they're recycling images?
A little behind here, but was shocked to see the price on this club. Are they out of their minds???!! Does PC think we are their "cash cows" So disgusted with PC, but love what the cricut can do. With so much $$$ already invested hate to switch to another die cutter. LOVE MTC!! well worth the price and very user friendly!!! only thing making me happy with Cricut or would have switched to another system!!
I thought I was the only one who thought some one at Provocraft has lost their mind!! I barely just got some cash for the gypsy. Its crazy. I'll just admire the projects others will make with their exclusive carts. No thanks Provocraft!
Okay well now I'm seriously considering Making the Cut! They have lost their minds! I haven't even bought the gypsy as I thought it was overpriced (still $300 here in Canada!) But everyone on the boards is eatting it up and joining the circle! *shaking my head*
This is insanity!!! My opinion of PC has diminished to some degree over the past year and this new debacle has done nothing but reinforce that feeling. What a greedy bunch of you-know-whats! I saw they finally released Picturesque on the website. That should help prevent the gouging on Ebay but it did nothing to improve their own gouging of their customer base. It appears they'll never learn and as long as there are people out there who go for their crap hook, line and sinker, they'll keep right on doing it!
They should have called it the Cricut Cult Circle because there are some people that will do this just because it has the Cricut logo on it. I am not drinking their Kool-Aid, I remain a MTC girl. It is ab-fab!
THank you all for saving me the trouble of getting through all the hype to find out how much this oh so exclusive "Club" costs. I'd like to say I can't believe it, but I can. What a cheezy, sleazy, attempted con. I guess the exclusive 3% are the 3 out of 100 that their marketing team has calculated will fall for it. I used to feel a little guilty about wanting to buy software that takes the place of the Gypsy, but now all I want to know is, "What's the difference between Sure Cuts a Lot and Make the Cut?"
I got all the surveys and the notes that said I was invited to this exclusive club that had so many benefits I would be thrilled to join. Yes, like you I haven't stopped laughing! My first laugh came when I saw the new Cricut Lite price tag. Shell out that much money for a "Lite" cart. No thank you, my wallet can't do it.
That is a LOT of money just to get some items "first" and a slight discount of of purchases on the website . . . and I don't even like the images in the French Manor cart . . . what if the other carts are ones that I don't want either?
I can't wait to join! At first I was turned off by the price but I couldn't get the exclusive carts out of my head and how much I wanted the French Manor one. My purchase was justified when I realized it was less than I spend on chai at the coffee shop every work day. The way I see it is win-win: I get to be a member, and I lose a couple pounds in the next twelve months by drinking fewer chais before work!
I don't think it's right to exclude customers by only inviting certain ones and not others . If I had known they were going to be inclusive at a cost I would of rethought my recent Cake and Expression and Gypsy purchases.
Just made a donation to you site. Wish I had read this before I "foolishly" joined. With constant interruptions by my two grandsons ages 4 and 5 (whom we adopted and have been raising since birth), I thought it was a one time fee. I figured 4 carts each year while it lasts, would be worth it. Oh well, live and learn. Should never do anything in a hurry, especially when it involves that much money. OUCH!!!
Laughing with you ..... $300 for that?! ROTFL. No thanks.
ReplyDeleteEXACTLY!!!!! They have lost their minds.
ReplyDeleteToo expensive!!

ReplyDeleteJust came to agree...is PC serious??? This is a joke, right?
ReplyDeleteWow! I was invited, but the email said nothing about cost. You mean I have to pay?? (Blink, blink, blink) Get real! If I had that kind of money, I would be a gypsy owner--or even a Pazzles owner!
ReplyDeleteMary101, Cricut MB
We dont get rewards here in New Zealand or can go to events or whatever. They forget they have customers all over the world!!!! What a joke.
ReplyDeleteditto to all of the above! They had contacted me earlier with a survey about an exclusive club. ReplyDelete3 words....MAKE THE CUT! =)
ReplyDeleteWith each and every new move they make, PC makes MTC and SCAL look better and better!
ReplyDeleteI was also asked to fill out the survey on this - and I said NO WAY would I pay more to get access to exclusive carts. They should at least have the option to reject the cart if you don't like it - you don't even know what they look like yet.
