Provo Craft and Creative Memories have partnered on two exclusive cartridges only available thru Creative Memories. More information will be shared about these two cartridges (Cheerful Seasons and Reminisce Accents) on August 1 when Creative Memories formally makes the announcement. The cartridges are designed to coordinate with two new Creative Memories Power Palettes and will retail for $55 each. Look for more information on August 1 and beyond!

  1. Grrr...I'm getting tired of all these "exclusive" cartridges. HSN only has 3 Birds and the Martha carts...Walmart only has the LITES...exclusive Circle member carts...and now CM is only going to have these. It's very frustrating. All those carts end up being SO expensive because there is no competition. BOO!

  2. Very interesting! I wonder if Stampin Up and the Angel and all the other companies will have cartridges. I guess we will be come more selective. It may motivate people to have CM parties to earn cartridges. All the cartridges and products are wonderful but really no one can afford to have it all unless they have lots of money or they need a 12 step program. LOL I guess that isn't funny. I might be looking for one soon. Thanks for the heads up Linda.

  4. if everyone would just stop buying them, then PC would get the hint - I won't drop $55 for the contents of those carts - its overinflated and not original anyway. I think the Martha Stewart prices were shameful - in these partnerships there's just too many hands wanting their piece of the pie - and the consumer is paying for it. To put a spin on Nike - just say no!

  7. That is interesting - when I think of cricut, I don't thing of CM. I like the cartridges.

There does seem to be a lot more "exclusives" lately but it isn't the first time. There have been times when cartridges were exclusive to QVC.

  8. I guess we won't be able to pick these up on EBAY for around 20 bucks. These exclusives are really a bummer! But I am sticking to my guns, and refusing to pay full price for any of them,
no matter how bad I would like to have them. I still can not understand why they chose Walmart for the Lite ones, they never put anything on sale and my Walmart has little to none craft department. The question that I have about the Imagine is, can you cut without printing? The ink just seems too pricey for me, especially the one color cart. What if you cut a lot in blue and it runs out, you would still have to change the entire color cartridge. Oh well, thank you Linda for keeping us updated on the latest, we appreciate you!

  9. My take is this: In December I received a Cricut for Christmas from my son. Now, I am up to 61 cartridges, 60-75 packs of paper...thousands and thousands of dollars spent on a very fun hobby. Does this fun ever end? Does Provo Craft not understand the state of our economy? Personally, I am excited about these new products, but I have put a halt to the spending. Now...it is the Imagine which will "only" cost around 80 cents to print one 12 by 12 layout. What about the embellishments...etc....Isnt it supposed to be about the pictures of family and happy memories? The is quite an industry. I really enjoy it and will continue, but I refuse to be sucked in anymore.

  10. You can do what I do -- have a party!!! I do that with Stampin' Up to get their exclusive Sizzix dies and you can do the same thing with Creative Memories and get the CM Carts for FREE! Let me know if you need a consultant.

On August 1st CM is launching new product and a new line from Nancy O'Dell. Soon to follow will be Mac compatible digital software!

I would hope that all the carts would be interchangeable for all machines from Cricut. I've been doing print & cut on my silhouette for years. I love it. It's a computer based program and it does the print part on my regular printer. You can check it out at http://www.silhouettemachine.com/
I have an annual subscription and have over 11,000 designs. You can use any Tru font from your computer (some work better than others, just like on DS), it also cuts out dingbats, which are totally fun! I just completed 45 gumball machine invitations and there's no way I could have gotten the printing so perfectly lined up without this function. The newer silhouette SD machine has an SD slot, so you can save your designs to the SD card, take the card & machine with you to a crop and cut whatever you saved on the card! There are so many new things coming out -- my friends that went to CHA can't wait to share their finds too. One can never have too many toys!

  11. Thanks Linda for all the info. I always look at your blog to find out the latest. I too think the exclusive cartridges are way to expensive.

  12. @Jennifer L - I wondered the same thing about the printer cartridges...

Is it me, or do the same (or very similar) images keep showing up?? I think - no, I KNOW - I have enough owls and mushrooms on the cartridges I already have!! LOL
