Apparently there's a new cartridge coming out in June that we don't know about yet. Some brave soul mentioned it on the Cricut message board but PC must be wanting to keep it hush hush...

...cause they yanked it off the message board like zip!

Provo Craft Announces Upgrades to Gypsy

Per Provocraft:

“We are extremely excited to announce this particular update; it’s the biggest one we’ve made to Gypsy by Cricut in 2010,” said Tonia Conger, VP of consumer marketing for Provo Craft. “The new features and functionality address a lot of what has been on our customers’ wish lists—expanding even more their creative potential and the freedom to design anywhere with ease and precision.”

The new Gypsy upgrade includes specifically:

New Features:
• The much-anticipated Photo App is now available for Gypsy by Cricut users.
• The ability to hide-contours enabling users even greater ability to customize and create new designs, hide any part of an existing shape for greater customization Hidden contours will save when the design is saved.
• Rulers for the mat screen so users can more readily see the actual size of the shapes they cut.
• Feature keys now show descriptive text and icons to help users make better use of their cartridges without the use of the printed manual.
• Gypsy can now be restored at home if required.
• Gypsy now displays “Busy Syncing…” while connected to GypsySync through your computer to inform users that it is not available for use while it is in Syncing mode.
• Cartridges can now be added to Gypsy faster and more reliably than before.

• Cindy Loo
• Mini Monsters
• Disney/Pixar – Toy Story

Enhancements:
• Tabs have been added to the layers making it easier to navigate a design with multiple layers.

• The ability to reorder layers making it easier to design
• Gypsy now “powers on” in less than half the time it did before.

Bug Fixes:
• Minor cosmetic improvements and bug fixes.

Layout's to Share

I got a little scrappin' done a few weeks ago. Thought I'd share. :)

This picture really doesn't do this one justice. I took 2 sheets of the same cardstock, cut out the squares on one and put pop-dots under the pieces making them raised. It looks really cute in person.

This one I did almost the same thing. I took some swirly cardstock and cut out the design to put on top of the other patterned cardstock.

This one is from Halloween last year. I left a spot for journaling. I'm trying really hard to journal better.

This one is from Christmas last year. We were taking pictures trying to make one for Christmas cards. Forgot the journaling. Crud.

Cricut Design Studio Updates

EDITED TO ADD NOTE:  I have heard that lots of people are having trouble with some of Design Studios features since updating so I'd hold off on the program update itself.  However NO ONE has reported to me any issues with updating the font pack so it is safe to download.

Cricut's Design Studio has an update. At the link below, you will see TWO download buttons. The first download button will update the Design Studio program itself. This update has to do with the Gypsy. If you DO NOT use a Gypsy, then you do not have to have this update. If you do want this update, be sure to follow the instructions completely which involves uninstalling your Design Studio.

The second download button will update your fonts allowing you to see the new cartridges. If you want this update, DO NOT uninstall the Design Studio, simply follow the instructions below.
