Can you believe it!?!? I can't!

I am finally getting an Imagine and I am BEYOND excited! I've wanted one since they were announced but circumstances just wouldn't allow it. (You know that old saying "bad stuff comes in 3's" or something like that? Well it's true. HOPEFULLY, praying and keeping fingers crossed, our run of bad is over.) So anyway, my Imagine is due to arrive tomorrow. YAY!

In the mean time, because I couldn't see light at the end of this tunnel, I've not paid much attention to the do's and don'ts of the Imagine....I do recall hearing that there were some issues (hopefully all ironed out now) but just in case...can you gals that have Imagines take the time to fill me in on what to do or not to do? Any helpful hints that you would like to leave here in the comments would be greatly appreciated not only by me but I'm sure for others too.

Thank you!!

Gypsy Problems

I am having a booger of a time updating my Gypsy. What's the deal?

Sales Sales Sales

I got my Memory Miser email newsletter the other day and noticed they are having a great sale on cartridges and if you are new to the Cricut, that rocks! You guys are getting some of the cartridges that I paid full price on for pennies on the dollar. LUCKY YOU!

But you know what else I noticed? The newer cartridges are priced GREAT too!! Yeah buddy!! I'm a border lover so I love the cake cartridges...no, not for making cakes (my oven died last month anyway! haha) but for the borders that are on these cartridges. Memory Miser has these full size cartridges for only $23.99...order $50 or more and you get free shipping. Dang that is a bargain! Click HERE to see the cake cartridges now.

So anyway, if you're in a shopping mood (and who isn't right?), click HERE to head over to Memory Miser now and be blown away. Have fun! =D

***Edited to add a note from this weeks MM Newsletter***

Happy March!

It's always refreshing to turn the page on our calendars to this month and start thinking Spring.  However, the winds of change are affecting more than just the weather.  Provo Craft has announced a significant price increase on their cartridges.  We have raised our prices somewhat to reflect this, however, we do expect even more increases in the coming weeks.  I know that it is difficult to see these prices, so we are offerring 25% off Cricut Cartridges to help ease the pain.  This discount will be taken in the shopping cart through Friday, March 4th.  After that time, the discount will be removed and the prices will be as displayed.  We will continue to offer free shipping on orders over $50.00.

Please know that we are committed to giving you the most competitve pricing, best and friendliest service as well as a wide variety of products for your crafting needs.  Please do not hesitate to contact us and know that we are as upset by this news as you.

Sincerely,

Cricut Craft Room: An Online Design Tool

Details that I've found so far:

  • Cricut Craft Room works with all Cricut machines.
  • Craft Room has similar functionality to Gypsy and Cricut DesignStudio it does not replace either.
  • Cricut Craft Room allows crafters and designers to design with a PC or MAC on a virtual Cricut mat. The interface features drag and drop, one-touch welding, image grouping and sizing, and a search feature to find specific images.
  • You must own the cartridges to cut with them.
  • Craft Room does require an internet connection.
  • You can only cut from a maximum of two computers but these computers can be changed at any time.
  • Craft Room is free.

Traffic is a Bear in Atlanta!

I live just above Atlanta. If you know nothing else about Atlanta you do know it's one big traffic jam. I will do just about anything to get out of getting out on the roads here. So anyway, when I saw this local video, it just cracked me up. hahaha

    That's So Tweet!

Hello Make The Cut guys and gals, today I have found the most awesome Make The Cut instructional site E.V.E.R!

What's Make The Cut you ask? Well Make The Cut is a 3rd party program that makes your computer and your Cricut machine fall in love and live happily ever after! You'll be able to cut your computer fonts and files without needing to purchase expensive cartridges. Install the demo version of Make The Cut by clicking HERE and you'll see what I mean (or purchase the program by clicking HERE).

    What's that?

You're not all that computer savvy you say?

No problem!! Install Make The Cut and then head over to Under A Cherry Tree and before you can say Well I'll Be you'll be a Make The Cut pro!! Seriously!

PS. Be sure to also check out the MTC forum, you'll find TONS of FREE files and great conversation there.

    Design Studio & Gypsy Updates

Design Studio & Gypsy updates are available for download on the Cricut website. When you go there you'll see that the screen still says that the last update is for November, not sure why they don't fix this =\ , anyway, if you download the font pack update you will see that the new version number is V110210...weird huh. As always, remember, don't click on the first download button as this is not a program update but just adding new fonts/shapes AND do not uninstall your program before updating. Just sayin'. Click HERE for the Design Studio update.

For the G, connect it to your computer with a USB cable, then just turn it on and click on your Cricut Sync program. If you've not downloaded the Sync program yet, you can do that HERE.

    Three New Cartridges from Cricut

Three new cartridges were announced from Provocraft yesterday. 2 for the Imagine and one from Creative Memories. I don't have an Imagine and already have baby cartridges so unfortunately don't find any of these interesting. =(

Thinking Outside The Box - Well Groovy!

I have set aside this entire weekend to work on updating the Cricut Cheat Sheets. (Do I need help? Why yes, I'd love help! Email me at ohscrap@gmail.com.) ANYWAY, so I'm working on the cartridges and I'm up to Groovy Times. Now I have to tell you, this is probably a cartridge that I would never ever ever ever buy just because it's just not my thing. Know what I mean. ANYWAY, so here I am working on this cartridge and I'm seeing these images and I'm thinking, you know that would look really cool on a card or scrapbook page. Look at the picture below to see what I mean....now, forget about the silhouette...just look at the layers under her. See the red, orange, yellow, green and blue layers...wouldn't that look 'groovy' (sorry about that) as the background on a layout? That's what I'm saying! Ok, so I'm still not going to buy the cartridge but thought I'd point that out for those of you that might be on the fence about this one.
